Amy Cook was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, and
currently resides in Los Angeles. She is a performer, songwriter and
recording artist playing the LA circuit. Cook has signed a production
deal with Hear, Inc. and is finishing work on her first solo record.
She has had songs played on local radio stations and her song “Windows”
was featured in the Fox Television show, “Time of Your Life” and another
song, “Magic Wand” was recently featured in the WB series, “Felicity.”
Director Todd Robinson discovered Cook in an unusual way. On location
in Death Valley, Robinson entered the kitchen one morning and heard
Cook’s demo CD playing on production assistant, Leah Bathe’s stereo. A
friend of Cook’s, Bathe was playing the music for her own enjoyment when
Robinson entered. Immediately drawn to the soulfulness of Cook’s music,
Robinson quickly absconded with the CD. Upon returning from location,
Robinson contacted Cook and the rest as they say is history. Cook wrote
and performed three original songs for the feature length documentary
“Amargosa.”
